Paihia School TRYathlon

A few weeks ago Paihia School had a tryathlon.
We done swimming first down at the Paihia beach, then we ran next and our run was from the beach back to the school, and then our bike was around our school field twice and then through the rugby goal posts.
I think every single person did really well even in the hot sun that was scorching down at us. We all had lots and lots of fun and we all hope that another event like this could happen again.

Surf life saving

A few weeks ago Te Ngahere went down to the Paihia beach for a surf life saving session.
There were three people who taught us, about their job as a lifeguard, their names were Sam, Liam and Toobes. They taught us about their role as a lifeguard, how to spot a rip and how to get out of a rip. They taught us some really neat tips to do at a big beach, or if you are in trouble at one as well. It was a fun day and they have really inspired me to become something like them when I am older.
