A few weeks ago in the green group (my reading group) we were learning to use a range of strategies to answer comprehension questions. We were reading a text called The Bullet. I think I did really good on my presentation and I answered the questions correctly! Here is my slide, I hope you enjoy it.

Informational Reports
For a couple of weeks in Te Ngahere we had been learning to write informational reports. My WALT’s were to use topic sentences, hook sentences, pronouns, proper nouns and common nouns. Our informational reports were based around our chosen country, (mine was France) so we had to write things such as famous people, popular sports and Native plants around France! This is my informational report about animals.

Walt: Write an informational report about a topic related to our country, use complex sentences, use topic sentences, use common and proper nouns and use pronouns in our writing.
France’s Animals
Did you know that the most dangerous animals in France are the Jellyfish, Asp Viper and a Cow? That’s pretty amazing. If you want to keep on hearing pretty amazing things keep reading and you will be learning all about them!!!
The Jellyfish have been around for a VERY, VERY long time! They have been around longer than the dinosaurs? The Jellyfish have existed since 650 million years ago!!! If we were to pollute and kill our ocean, surprisingly the Jellyfish would be the only sea creature to survive!
The Asp viper can be found in all regions of France except the extreme north and north east. They would prefer to live in dry habitats, sunny slopes, stone walls and similar habitats. It can be found almost anywhere. It will often live in old holes in the ground made previously by voles and mice.
The ASP Viper usually starts hunting in the evenings and part of the night, it’s prey is mainly small mammals. The ASP Viper kills them in a matter of moments with its venom before eating them head first. larger prey is often released after having been bitten, and is then tracked down by scent as the victim weakens. It never eats fish or amphibians but can still be found near water.
Cows
French cows have been responsible for the deaths of humans in late July, The Local reported, how a hiker in the Pyrenees was killed after a herd of cows charged at him. And back in 2010, two hill-walkers were killed in similar incidents in the Alps and, once again, the Pyrenees, within a matter of days! According to the Locals France Cows are one of many dangerous animals around.
In conclusion there are some pretty dangerous animals in France. I have just taught you about the jellyfish and about how long it has been around and I have also taught you about the Asp viper and the cows. I hope you learnt a lot from my writing!
